Another LJ post completely unrelated to the first one, so I made a new one.

A part of me feels bad for Chris Brown. No, I don't condone his behavior. Domestic abuse is dangerous and illegal for good reasons. He never should have done what he did, and now it's following him around, like it should.

*But* I believe that the only reason why this is following around - while other celebrities like ShamWow guy and Nicolas Cage get left alone after a few weeks - is because his girlfriend was also a superstar. Because she was a superstar, paparazzi wanted to take her picture, and that's the battered face you see on TMZ/Perez Hilton every hour of every day. That picture shocked fans. They were outraged and demanded that companies blackball Chris Brown in all areas, which ultimately happened.

ShamWow's prostitute had no fans, and no one heard of her, so that blew over in a few weeks. In fact, we all had a good laugh and went on our merry way. For what? Because Rhianna has good music albums and a fierce sense of fashion? How shameful.
